Our Wedding Plans!

I just want to share my overwhelming happiness! It's about me and my love planning to settle down late next year. For five years of going steady, finally.. God granted us our most awaited dream! Let me share with you the things I've listed down regarding our 1 year plan before our wedding. We discuss this during our Fridates! Well, my boyfriend is a very organized person so we preferred to plan everything this way, from target dates to target budget and pray for the plan every time we finish discussing and brainstorming.

  • October 31, 2010 - Hsiang Yi's flight to Taiwan to gather his family and express his intention of getting married.
  • November 26, 2010 - my birthday; We will take my family out for an overnight swimming and that's where we'll tell my whole family our plans. Mama wag kang iiyak! Hehe.. =)
  • May 2011- PAC Annual Conference.. I will take leave from the Deaconess Service for at least 1 conference year to get ready for our wedding.
  • June 2011- engagement dinner with family and some close friends. (My dad will be the one who'll design and make our engagement ring! which he does not know yet till my birthday =))
  • July 2011 - I and Hsiang Yi will fly to Taiwan together to meet his family. He will be coming back here in the Philippines after 2 weeks and I will stay there with his parents for 4 months to get to know them and learn their language in the process. It's in our goal that I learn and know their culture for he is a Chinese pastor so we could minister together in the future.
  • October 2011 - me coming back home to prepare for the wedding in 2 months time.
  • December 2011 - our target month of getting married! (the details are soon to be discussed. ;))

I believe the Lord is blessing our plans. God bless us!

PS: This is still a secret till we declare our plans next year. So keep it to yourself muna. This blog is very exclusive to several people including you. Thanks!

Valentine's Dinner Date

My hubby and I had an early Valentines dinner date which was last Sunday night. He always hate traffic which is expected on that sweet day. And so, he thought of having dinner with me earlier at Don Henrico's along Midtown Plaza! I was like grinning in excitement to taste this 14" pizza! I'm a pizza lover and my hubby exactly knows that. We also chose this special spot where there is this dim light so it looked even more romantic. Sorry, I only had taken a picture of the pizza for too much excitement to bite a slice. See that moved slice already? I was grabbing one when I remembered to take picture. And that couple in front of us wearing those exact same tshirt is an evidence that Valentines Day could be anytime! So fun! Just a very wise decision you two. You did the right thing of dating earlier just as we did! Linking with:

Sweet Saturday 17: Keys to a Happy Marriage #1 - Communication

This week's topic on Sweet Saturday is very interesting and I'll answer 2 out of  4 questions. What are the things that you have learned in your marriage about communication? I and my husband are still in the honeymoon stage for we're only married for almost 4 months. But I could say that communication is really a big part and an essential tool for a happy marriage. We may be beginning as a married couple but being boyfriend/girlfriend for 6 years, we've learned a lot. It gave us the time to know more about each other's likes and dislikes and MOST of all is that, we learned to communicate through talking. It's very important to us since we come from different race. (He's a Taiwanese and I, a Filipino) And so, it's a must to tell each other our feelings and opinions. When is the time when it's hard for you and your partner to communicate?  I have a very funny story about this. There was a time when I had something that I wanted him to...
