Sweet Saturday 33: We're Newbies!

I missed contributing to Jona's Meme Sweet Saturday. I'm sorry for missing out a lot. So now, here I am joining back again! I'm also linking this up with Yummy Sunday. What new things do you and your spouse have this year? Or, is there a new place, new resto, new food or new activity that you want to do together or you’ve tried out early on in the year? We are not planning on some particular new things that we wanted to do together but there is this Korean Restaurant along Macapagal Avenue that we tried and that we cannot forget and actually have added up to our 'best restaurants list'. I forgot the name nga lang because we were so hungry. Haha. It was last Sunday night when we were invited by a good friend to celebrate Chinese New Year with him and some other folks. It may seem funny because we were celebrating Chinese New Year in a Korean restaurant with a Taiwanese husband and Filipino other friends! But you know, it's the food that we appreciated. The or...

Sweet Saturday 24: Gifts I'll Love for Christmas

I missed a lot at SS and now here I am catching up! About gifts, it's funny because I and my husband don't surprise each other. We talk about it. I don't know but we think that it's fun this way. But still surprising in a way because we don't get to know what the both of us are going to receive from each other until we've opened the gifts. But you know what's more funny? We set a price on it! Haha. Parang exchange gift talaga! We've been doing this for about several years already. And I would usually rumble on gifts that he actually needs such as wallets, belts, polo shirts, and this very special gift that I gave him last year, a silver necklace with a golden cross pendant which he uses every Sunday! I love seeing those gifts being used regularly. And now, I know what to give him! A Bench Potion blue! This cologne left a mark in my heart. This is the cologne that he was wearing when we were going out on our first dates. The smell made me love him. It...

Sweet Saturday 19: Keys To A Happy Marriage – Trials

I thought that I was gonna miss this week's SS topic! Well, I can't help it but I'm always glad to contribute to Sweet Saturday Meme because this helps me and a lot of other women in their marriage. And I'm sure that this is not only about sharing ups and downs in one's marriage but also about being able to learn from other's experiences as well. So much about this introduction, let me start talking about this interesting topic - 'Trials'. I know that everyone, married or not, do encounter trials in life and relationships whether we like it or not. It's just part of our lives that can't be avoided.  In my relationship with hubby, in the first few years of being together, it was tough having to face hardships yet we regard trials as a way for us to be stronger together. Thinking of the fact that our cultures differ, as well as our different personalities, trials will likely occur. It was hard for us at first,  but as we know, trials will...

Sweet Saturday 15: Not His Taste

I'm new to being a homemaker for I recently got married. My husband is the number one fan of my recipes! That, I do not know if he's just making compliments to make me not get tired of cooking for him. Lol! But kidding aside, he's a wonderful husband and his love language is by appreciating everything that I do for him. I believe that while practicing this newly acquired skill, I'm learning to the best I can.  But of course, I do have failed recipes too. That can't be avoided. There was this time when I cooked chicken curry for the first time. I was kind of very careful and paranoid with the procedures and all although I knew already how to cook it in my mind, for I always watch my mother cooking this recipe whenever I come home from work before, but cooking it on my own was a nervous thing to do. Not only because I'm not confident, really, but because I knew very well that my husband will criticize it. This is one of his favorite dish! Knowing that fact made ...
