Sweet Saturday 19: Keys To A Happy Marriage – Trials

I thought that I was gonna miss this week's SS topic! Well, I can't help it but I'm always glad to contribute to Sweet Saturday Meme because this helps me and a lot of other women in their marriage. And I'm sure that this is not only about sharing ups and downs in one's marriage but also about being able to learn from other's experiences as well. So much about this introduction, let me start talking about this interesting topic - 'Trials'.

I know that everyone, married or not, do encounter trials in life and relationships whether we like it or not. It's just part of our lives that can't be avoided.

In my relationship with hubby, in the first few years of being together, it was tough having to face hardships yet we regard trials as a way for us to be stronger together. Thinking of the fact that our cultures differ, as well as our different personalities, trials will likely occur. It was hard for us at first,  but as we know, trials will just ruin relationships if we allow it. And so, we worked things out together when difficulties come our way. One thing I learned in our marriage, that if we are facing trials, all we need to do and best to turn to is God. I'm just so blessed that in the course of our relationship, we learned to take our burdens to Him because it just make us down and depressed. My husband may be a pastor, but he also feels what it is to be challenged by trials especially in our relationship. And I thank God that prayer binds us closely to each other. I love the feeling of crying in prayer than crying in hopelessness. There was this time when I saw my husband crying too while saying our prayers and from there I know that this relationship will always triumph over trials because God is our source of strength and a hand in need. Right now, I'm truly grateful of being in this relationship with hubby and even though, I know that there are more challenging trials ahead of the way... we are not worried because God is greater than that. There's nothing to worry about. Just give all the worries and cares upon Jesus.

As to what Jeremiah 32:27 says, "Behold, I am the Lord, the God of all flesh. Is anything too difficult for Me?" So there, if anything comes our way, no matter how hard it could be, there's God who can help us. Amen!

  1. i like what you said that it's good to cry out to God than to cry in hopelessness :) it relieves us of our worries, sadness or any negative feelings.
it's true no one is exempted from trials. the only difference now is that we know that God is with us whenever we face trials in life.

  3. Hello Ronadelle.

Sorry if it took me awhile before I could visit your blog/s again. I have been so busy in school since August and internship in the restaurant that I am in for two weeks now takes so much for my time and energy that I don't have much time to blog and even visit FB. I try to update my blogs from time to time but blog hopping is something I rarely do these days. Sorry about that :)

I am so happy to hear that despite the trials, you and your husband's relationship's still going strong. I know that you both love each other that much and that you'll hold on no matter what.

You have a great day! Hugs!

My Wedding Dress

Hello everyone! Since I ran out of topics to blog about, I resorted to a thinking that I'd be blogging about everything that happened to my wedding, just recently (June 2011). From the things and needs that I bought, photos, to the memorabilias that I treasure. I hope you bear with me. Hihi! So here, I started it with my wedding dress! To refresh my memories, I bought this wedding gown on the month of my wedding already. It was 2 weeks before my big day! All I heard from my loved ones was blame because I haven't prioritized it but come on! It's because I was too busy planning everything. Huhu. ;( So, after several fittings in Divisoria,  here's what I liked the most. It could be very simple but it struck my heart when I tried it on. Well, you can tell since I'm a simple woman. This wedding dress is made from a pure white silk cloth and fine linings. There's not much design on it but I like how those sequins were sewn perfectly on top. With this wh

Valentine's Dinner Date

My hubby and I had an early Valentines dinner date which was last Sunday night. He always hate traffic which is expected on that sweet day. And so, he thought of having dinner with me earlier at Don Henrico's along Midtown Plaza! I was like grinning in excitement to taste this 14" pizza! I'm a pizza lover and my hubby exactly knows that. We also chose this special spot where there is this dim light so it looked even more romantic. Sorry, I only had taken a picture of the pizza for too much excitement to bite a slice. See that moved slice already? I was grabbing one when I remembered to take picture. And that couple in front of us wearing those exact same tshirt is an evidence that Valentines Day could be anytime! So fun! Just a very wise decision you two. You did the right thing of dating earlier just as we did! Linking with:

Tagaytay Travel

Last two weeks ago, we had this 3-day conference for church workers in Manila Area which was held at CCT Tagaytay Retreat and Training Center - a fellowship/seminar/conference for the United Methodist Church workers. My husband, who is a Chinese pastor and I, a church musician, went and had the best experience there. We had the most and respectable speakers and lecturers who came and pastors from North Georgia were also present. Good thing that we were there and it was an awesome place! Not to mention the perfect cold weather that comforted us to sleep on those two nights. Since this Retreat and Training Center is new, which only started operating on June of last year, our church thought of doing our activity there. They had every facilities ready and of full service when we arrived. Almost a thousand delegates came and were happy of the venue! This training center is actually a project of Christian churches and organizations who thought of establishing this beautiful place and I mu
